MOBILE COUNTY, Ala. (WKRG) — A GoFundMe has been created to help pay for the funeral and other expenses for fisherman CJ Pitts.
Bear spotted on Royal Street in downtown Mobile
20-year-old Pitts originally went missing on April 30, around 2 a.m., while fishing on Cedar Point Pier.
Officials said Pitts was sitting on top of the safety rail of the pier, attempting to untangle a fishing line. When he tried to jump down, his foot slipped, causing him to fall backwards over the railing and into the water.
Pitts was then caught in the current and carried underneath the pier.
