MOBILE, Ala. (WKRG) — The City of Mobile began hosting informational meetings on Wednesday for the new Second Line Transit set to debut in July.

The Wave Transit system runs 12 routes on weekdays and 11 on Saturdays across the City of Mobile. But starting in early July, the city will be removing and redesigning routes with its new Second Line Transit.
Officials want to hear feedback from those who use public transportation. While nothing is set in stone, the number of routes the city has now will be changing. Residents will also be seeing more minivans picking up and dropping off riders.
“The bus stops that are currently active right now; nobody in that area is going to be losing any coverage,” said Lexi Trinkle, the general manager of Wave Transit.
VIA is proposing nine routes on weekdays and four on the weekends. Those who attended Wednesday’s informational meeting are concerned about how riders will get around town.
“We should have been told before, not before today, that with these changes, we’re looking like. The working class. That’s what this is about,” said one person who attended the meeting…
