Stanislaus County Fair opens with one of its busiest starts in years

TURLOCK, Calif. — Large crowds turned out for the opening weekend of the Stanislaus County Fair in Turlock, where officials say one of the area’s biggest annual traditions is off to a busy start.

The fair attracts about 200,000 people each year, according to officials. Stanislaus County Fair CEO Kim Williams said Friday’s opening day was the fair’s highest-attended opening day in about 10 years, and Saturday also drew strong crowds.
