Stockton has seen much grief throughout the years, with the 2025 Stockton Mass Shooting at a 2-year-old’s birthday, killing two 8-year-olds, a 14-year-old and a 21-year-old.
About a month before the mass shooting, 32-year-old Juan Loaiza was shot and killed at a Halloween party in Ceres, where two others were injured. Two years before that, in 2023, 18-year-old Kevin Chavolla was shot and killed in Keyes just hours after a Fourth of July celebration.
In May 2026 alone, the Stockton Police Department saw 840 incidents of violent and non-violent crime. On July 5, Stockton officers began investigating two separate shooting homicides, just days after the end of Gun Violence Awareness Month…
