Churches and community organizations from across the region are preparing to take their message of faith and service outdoors as The Encounter: Jesus in the City 2026 returns to downtown Stockton for a two-day gathering at Weber Point Events Center on October 3 and 4.
The free event is designed as a citywide outreach rather than a traditional church service. Organizers say churches, volunteers, families and community organizations will come together at Weber Point to serve residents through free food, groceries, clothing, community resources, children’s activities, music, worship and prayer. Admission is free and everyone is welcome.
This year’s Encounter expands to two days, with Saturday, October 3, from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m., followed by a second day Sunday, October 4, from noon to 5 p.m. The first day places a special emphasis on children and families, while Sunday’s gathering focuses on the next generation and continued community fellowship…
