(FOX40.COM) — A driver involved in a deadly hit-and-run crash last week in Manteca has been identified, officials announced Tuesday.
Around 5:49 a.m. on Friday, officers with the Manteca Police Department were dispatched to a crash in the 800 block of West Lathrop Road. A 73-year-old Manteca woman was walking home from Calvary Church when she was hit by a car that drove away before officers arrived. She was taken to a nearby hospital for treatment where she later died, Manteca police said.
On Tuesday, the driver was identified as a 30-year-old male Modesto man. Police interviewed him and seized his car as potential evidence. The man was not arrested at this time as it will take time to analyze the vehicle, driver’s statement, data from the car’s electronics, witness accounts and other evidence, Manteca police said…
