Driver Arrested for Brandishing Firearm During Roadway Dispute on Interstate 5

California Highway Patrol officers arrested a driver earlier today following a report of a firearm being brandished during a roadway dispute on Interstate 5 near Sperry Road.

The incident was reported to dispatch after a motorist alleged that a driver pointed a handgun at them while traveling on the freeway. Responding officers located the suspect vehicle shortly after it exited the interstate. A traffic stop was initiated, and the occupants of the vehicle were detained without further incident.

During a subsequent search of the vehicle, officers recovered a black handgun. Based on the preliminary investigation, the driver was identified as the individual responsible for the brandishing.
