(FOX40.COM) — A San Joaquin County jury has convicted a 23-year-old Stockton man of second-degree murder and other felony charges in connection with a 2024 shooting that killed a family member and endangered two children.
According to the San Joaquin County District Attorney’s Office, Kenneth Ernesto “Ernie” Mejia was found guilty following a trial in which prosecutors said he harassed two relatives under the age of 12 before escalating the confrontation into deadly violence on Nov. 9, 2024.
