Late-night crash near Modesto leaves cow dead, driver and passenger unharmed

A crash into a cow northeast of Modesto late Thursday night left two people with minor injuries and the animal dead, the California Highway Patrol reported.

Officers responded to the collision at around 11:40 p.m. near Claribel and Albers roads.

The driver and the passenger had minimal injuries and weren’t taken for medical help, CHP Modesto office spokesperson Officer Aaron Fay said. The cow was partially in the traffic lane by the white roadside line when it was hit by a Honda, he said…
