‘Family disputes’ lead to two weekend shootings in Montgomery

Two June 27 shootings in Montgomery that officials say “began as personal, family disputes” have left two injured and one dead.

Lt. Ernestina McGriff, a spokesperson for the Montgomery Police Department said personnel responded to an incident in the 300 block of Centennial Circle early Saturday that was “domestic in nature.” Montgomery Mayor Steven Reed said the incident involved a 17-year-old girl who allegedly shot her brother, leaving him with life-threatening injuries.

In the other incident later on Saturday night, Reed said that “a man lost his life, and a woman was wounded, and is now receiving treatment for non–life‑threatening injuries.” Montgomery police had not confirmed the location of the incident…
