MOBILE, Ala. (WALA) – A deputy U.S. marshal who once served in the Southern District of Alabama was shot and killed Monday while attempting to arrest a fugitive in Alexandria, Louisiana.
Deputy U.S. Marshal Michael Andrew Hanson, 36, was killed while serving an arrest warrant on Clarence Frazier, 48, who was wanted for failing to appear in court on a charge of sexual battery of a person with infirmities.
Hanson joined the U.S. Marshals Service in 2020 and was first assigned to the Southern District of Alabama before transferring to the Western District of Louisiana, where he was serving at the time of his death.
