TUSCALOOSA COUNTY, Ala. (WBRC) – A pair of cousins from Lowndes County who confessed to killing two men and dumping their bodies in Tuscaloosa County have entered a guilty plea in connection to the crime.
Past reporting from WBRC, and WBRC’s sister station, WSFA, said that Keondre Jazel McCall and Mance Quinnell McCall confessed to roles in the shooting death of 23-year-old Justin Michael Whitfield and Destin Rashard Holley, 23. Whitfield and Holley were from the Montgomery area.
The investigation began on Sunday morning, Jan. 8, 2023, when deputies were called to Interstate-20/59 East in the Fosters community around 6:15 a.m. A caller reportedly said they thought they’d hit someone in the road. The caller stopped and waited on deputies and was “fully cooperative.”
On scene, deputies found a body in the road that had been hit and troopers with the Alabama Law Enforcement Agency (ALEA) responded to help deputies with the accident investigation. Authorities found evidence at the scene which led them to believe the victim’s death was not the result of accidentally being hit by the passerby…
