Woman dies, 2 children injured in Autauga County crash

AUTAUGA COUNTY, Ala. (WSFA) – An Autaugaville woman died and two children were injured after a single-vehicle crash early Saturday, according to the Alabama Law Enforcement Agency.

ALEA said that about 2:32 a.m., Krisi Matthews, 35, died when the Jeep she was driving left the roadway, struck a culvert, went airborne and struck a ditch. Matthews was not wearing a seat belt and was ejected. She was pronounced dead at the scene.

A 7-year-old child and an 11-year-old child who were passengers in the Jeep were also not wearing seat belts and were ejected. Both were injured and taken to a nearby hospital for treatment…
