ELMORE COUNTY, Ala. (WSFA) – Four inmates at Elmore Correctional Facility have been charged with murder in connection with the death of another inmate, according to Alabama court documents.
Nico Phillips, Cedric Usher, Sylvester Slay and De’Andre Knox are each accused to beating Cason Helms to death on June 6.
Details about the incident are limited, but the documents allege that the four men repeatedly struck Helms in the head with their hands and feet until he died.
