CAMPAIGN 2026 (WAKA) – Democratic gubernatorial nominee Doug Jones and Democratic lt. governor nominee Phillip Ensler are proposing a change in the lieutenant governor’s position, which would require a change to the Alabama Constitution.

At a news conference in Montgomery today, they unveiled their plan for a partial reorganization of state government. They want to bring the office of lieutenant governor into the executive branch.
