Rob Kardashian is showing his support for an Alabama man who was convicted for the murder of his friend, who was shot by police.

On Tuesday, Kardashian took to Instagram share a post from the “Justice for LaKeith Smith” account to his Story, and linked to the group’s website, justiceforlakeithsmith.com .

According to WSFA , Smith was 15 years old when he and several friends were involved in a 2015 break-in in Millbrook, Ala. Local law enforcement responded to the burglary, and their response resulted in a shootout between the friends and police. Sixteen-year-old A’Donte Washington, one of Smith’s four friends present at the incident, was killed in the shooting.

Although the police officer who shot and killed Washington was not convicted of any crime, Smith was later charged as an adult and convicted in the murder of Washington. He was sentenced to 65 years in prison in 2018, and his sentence was later reduced to 30 years.
