Carter Hill-College Street project plan clears Montgomery Planning Commission, moving closer to city council vote

MONTGOMERY, Ala. (WSFA) – A major corridor in the heart of Montgomery could soon become more walkable under a new streetscape proposal that city leaders say would improve pedestrian safety and help nearby businesses.

The Carter Hill and College Street Streetscape Master Plan has passed the Montgomery Planning Commission after nearly a year of planning, marking a key step toward potential approval by the City Council and the mayor.
