Health officials say Heartland region is a ‘hotspot’ for alcohol use disorder

SOUTHERN ILLINOIS (KFVS) – Millions of Americans are fighting a battle with substance abuse, and Heartland health officials say the area is at above-average risk.

In the U.S., alcohol is the most-used drug, according to the National Institute on Drug Abuse.
