A Tennessee man wanted on violent felony charges is back in custody following a multi-state manhunt that ended outside an Alabama shopping mall.
Robert Dunaway Jr., 31, of Lexington, Tennessee, was apprehended Friday, June 5, by U.S. Marshals in Huntsville, Alabama. Dunaway faced outstanding warrants for aggravated kidnapping and aggravated rape in Henderson County, Tennessee.
The case began on May 15, 2026, when the Henderson County Sheriff’s Office secured arrest warrants against Dunaway in the Henderson County General Sessions Court following an investigation into allegations against him. Due to the severity of the charges, local authorities requested help from the U.S. Marshals Service Two Rivers Violent Fugitive Task Force based in Jackson, Tennessee.
