2 arrested after shots fired at Murfreesboro home

MURFREESBORO, Tenn. (WKRN) — After shots were fired at a Murfreesboro home earlier this week, authorities have arrested two people believed to be connected to the investigation.

According to the Murfreesboro Police Department, the incident happened at approximately 12:11 a.m. along Rushwood Drive on Tuesday, June 9.

Officials said a preliminary investigation revealed that a vehicle drove by a home and fired shots at the residence. Even though no one called 911, gunshot detection sensors in area reportedly led officers to the area.

Automatic license plate readers and public safety cameras helped analysts with the department’s Real Time Crime Center connect a Honda CR-V to the shooting, per the MPD.

During the investigation, law enforcement executed search warrants at homes on E. Sevier Street and Old Lascassas Pike, where 34-year-old LaSpecial Cantrell was taken into custody. Authorities added a handgun used in the shooting was also recovered…
