Semi stuck on railroad tracks hit by train in Chapel Hill

CHAPEL HILL, Tenn. (WKRN) — Multiple fire crews responded to a collision involving a train and semi-truck Friday morning in Chapel Hill.

The Chapel Hill Fire Department said crews were sent to the 2300 block of Crutcher Road at approximately 11:49 a.m. to respond to the incident.

When first responders arrived, they reportedly learned that the semi was stuck on the railroad tracks before it was hit by an oncoming train. Officials said the driver of semi-truck was able to get out of the vehicle before the impact, and no injuries were reported.

Due to concerns regarding potential hazardous material in the semi-truck, additional agencies—including the Franklin Fire Department’s HazMat 6 team and the Marshall County Office of Emergency Management—were requested to assist at the scene…
