An estimated $375 million Rutherford County jail and Sheriff’s Office may get built next to the Correctional Work Center in Murfreesboro.
The proposed project for the growing county with an overcrowded jail would serve 1,500 adult inmates by 2030 on property that includes the county’s Juvenile Court and Detention Center off South Church Street.
