JACKSON, Tenn. (WBBJ) – Early voting started today in West Tennessee and did you know casting your ballot comes with a chance to say thank you? The state is inviting voters to dedicate their vote to a veteran or active-duty service member through the Tennessee Honor Vote Program.
For some, going to the polls means more than casting a vote. It means casting a ballot for someone who wears the uniform, or wore the uniform, and defended the freedom to vote. That’s exactly what Tennessee’s Honor Vote Program is designed for.
Registered voters can sign up online by filling out a simple and free form. You’ll need your name, mailing address, and phone number as well as the name of the veteran or service member you want to honor, their branch of service, their rank, and if you can add some highlights from their service.
Once you submit, your dedication is added to the official Tennessee Honor Vote list. If you join the program, this year you will receive a special commemorative button that celebrates America’s 250th birthday…
