NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WZTV) — One out of every six dollars American consumers spend now goes online. But a Murfreesboro man says his online car-buying experience turned into a nearly $40,000 cautionary tale.
Randall Durham loves Corvettes. So when he spotted a 2022 Chevrolet Corvette Stingray listed through an online car auction, he was immediately interested.
The price looked good, and Durham says the reviews gave him confidence that he was dealing with a legitimate business.
“It was Google verified reviews,” Durham said. “And you know, you just start reading them. And most of them were five-star reviews. There was one bad review, and it was just the car wasn’t what they advertised. That was about it out of the hundreds that this company has.”…
