String-instrument competitions returned to the Uncle Dave Macon Days lineup on Sept. 11-13 at Hop Springs in Murfreesboro, expanding the popularity of the 48th event, according to its organizer.
The annual event, held near the late “Grand Ole Opry” star’s home, drew a few hundred attendees and musicians from Tennessee, Arkansas, Ohio, Oklahoma and other states.
“I think the return of the competitions drew people in from hours away,” said Uncle Dave Macon Days President Gloria Christy, who said people from Australia also attended the festival. “We need this, we need more things like this.”…
