Nineteen people have been indicted and are facing state and federal charges for their involvement in an organized drug trafficking scheme in West Tennessee. D. Michael Dunavant, United States Attorney for the Western District of Tennessee, and Neil Thompson, District Attorney General for the 24th District, announced the unsealing of the indictments Wednesday.
The charges are the culmination of a two-year long investigation by the Drug Enforcement Administration, the Bureau of Alcohol Tobacco Firearms and Explosives, and the Tennessee Bureau of Investigation in conjunction with the Tennessee Highway Patrol, Henry County Sheriff’s Department, Huntingdon Police Department, Carroll County Sheriff’s Department, Henderson County Sheriff’s Department, Madison County Sheriff’s Department, and the 24th Judicial District Drug Task Force.
