Speed cushions proposed for La Vergne neighborhood

LA VERGNE, Tenn. (WKRN) — A speed cushion project is being considered in a southeast neighborhood of La Vergne following a 30-minute discussion that was held this week during the city’s budget workshop.

Hope Mayfield, a mother of three, lives in The Ridge subdivision, which is currently being aided for the project. Traffic is a concern that she and other moms in the neighborhood share.

“Just with how hilly our neighborhood is, people kind of tend to fly by, and they don’t even realize,” Mayfield said. “I think we’ve actually all been guilty of it ourselves, you don’t realize how fast you’re going down these hills.”
