GEORGETOWN COUNTY, SC (WMBF) – A pilot was charged for allegedly scaring people on the beach with a dangerously low-flying aircraft over Pawleys Island in early April.
Georgetown County Sheriff Carter Weaver announced that William Roger Williamson III, 50, of Florence, was charged with breach of peace, aggravated in nature.
Deputies say they received several calls on April 10 after an extremely low-flying aircraft made several passes over Pawleys Island. Investigators opened a case and identified the specific aircraft involved.
According to the sheriff’s office, CCTV footage later showed Williamson was the pilot of the aircraft that day.
