HORRY COUNTY, SC (WMBF) – Amid calls to merge with the sheriff’s office and a series of internal controversies, the Horry County Police Department is bringing in an outside team for a full management review.
Police Chief Kris Leonhardt announced the review during the Horry County Public Safety Committee meeting Wednesday. The department will work through the International Association of Chiefs of Police, an organization that examines law enforcement agency operations, including structure, performance, responsibilities and personnel.
