Myrtle Beach YMCA expansion approved by city council

MYRTLE BEACH, SC (WMBF) – The Myrtle Beach City Council approved a funding plan for a multi-million dollar expansion of the Claire Chapin Epps Family YMCA.

The expansion plans include an all-day preschool, a teen center, and an adult center. The organization also plans to create a multi-use space for social gatherings and add a new fitness area.

“I think that it will be a wonderful expansion,” said Patty Laggis, a YMCA member. “Membership has grown as far as I can see multiple times since I joined three years ago.”…
