Santee Cooper power outage affected over 2K along Grand Strand

HORRY COUNTY, S.C. (WBTW) — Over 2,000 Santee Cooper customers were without power across Horry County, online outage maps showed Saturday afternoon.

The majority of those affected by the outage were around the North Ocean Boulevard and Pine Lakes Drive area. However, maps showed customers as far south as Surfside Beach and even some in the Conway without power.

While an exact cause has not yet been identified, widespread storms were moving across the Grand Strand during the outage. As of 5:45 p.m., there still approximately 100 customers without power.
