Five people were rescued off of the Murrells Inlet coast Thursday morning after a boat caught on fire.
Crew with the Murrells Inlet-Garden City Fire District responded to the scene around 11:15 a.m. after the U.S. Coast Guard got an alert that a boat had been on fire, Assistant Chief Brennan Moore told The Sun News. There were no injuries.
Moore said that the agency’s firefighters had already been out on the water as part of a larger multi-agency training when they got the call. It’s still unclear how far out or where along the coast the boat was located…
