FIRST ALERT: Heat Advisory, a few strong storms late tonight

MYRTLE BEACH, SC (WMBF) – We’re giving you the First Alert to another hot and steamy day. An approaching cold front will bring the risk for stronger storms later tonight.

Today

A HEAT ADVISORY is in place for another hot and humid day.

Temperatures this afternoon will sit near 90 for the Grand Strand, with inland areas climbing into the mid-90s. Factor in the increasing moisture, and the humidity makes it feel like 105-110° through the afternoon.

If you have plans outside today or have to work outdoors, make sure you drink plenty of water and take frequent breaks.

Storms Tonight

An approaching cold front will bring strong to severe storms across North Carolina this afternoon.

We’re under a LEVEL 2 risk for strong to severe storms today, but that threat doesn’t arrive until later this evening and into the overnight hours.

The initial line of storms actually looks to dive more to our west through the evening hours. Even if that line of storms holds together, it’s still uncertain to know how much coverage this line of storms will produce for us later tonight…
