Conway Planning Commission OKs 270-home development along Highway 378

A proposal to build roughly 270 homes along Highway 378 in Conway near Mill Pond Road won approval from the Planning Commission at Thursday’s meeting, moving the project one step closer to construction.

The development would span more than 100 acres south of Conway High School along Altman Branch. That waterway ties into the Crabtree Canal, and part of the project’s development agreement would rezone an additional 21 acres into Conservation Preservation and gift it to the city.

The developer also plans to build a paved trail along its property to help connect with the city’s eventual path along the canal.

The annexation and rezoning request, as well as the development agreement, now move forward to City Council for consideration…
