MYRTLE BEACH, SC (WMBF) – The Agape Love Box Ministry, based out of Grand Strand Community Church, has grown from a small outreach effort into a multi-church operation distributing thousands of care boxes each year to nursing homes, hospice facilities, churches, and strangers in need.
Judy Wilmot and Marion Brooks founded the ministry in 2019. Women from 37 churches create the color-coordinated boxes, which are filled with scripture-covered gifts and a handwritten card.
Ministry reaches thousands
When WMBF first visited the ministry in 2023, it had distributed 1,550 boxes. That number grew to 3,200 last year.
