MYRTLE BEACH, SC (WMBF) – Expect more sweltering days headed into your weekend and a couple storms to break up the periods of prolonged sunshine.
This Weekend
Beginning Saturday, a very weak front will stall in the area. It is too weak to drop our temperatures out of the 90s, but with it comes a higher potential for rain and storms. Expect scattered storms, likely beginning mid-afternoon.
This trend continues Sunday. We expect fewer pop-ups, but the chance for storms is still present.
On both weekend days, strong storms are possible. Be prepared for strong winds, brief heavy downpours, and lightning. Neither day will feature a total washout though, so heat index values are still the main concern.
Heading into Monday, things look briefly drier. With prolonged sunshine on Monday, we should jump back in the mid to upper 90s…
