MYRTLE BEACH, SC (WMBF) – The new Myrtle Beach police chief is discussing his plans for the department’s future.
Frederick Chambers was announced as Myrtle Beach’s police chief on Friday, and currently serves as deputy chief of police for the Fairfax County Police Department in Northern Virginia.
Building relationships with the department and community
Chambers said that in his first three months on the job, his goal is to hear from the current department. He said he plans to build a relationship with the team and determine how to make changes to improve response in the community.
