CONWAY, S.C. (WBTW) — Two pedestrians suffered serious injuries after the police say an impaired, speeding driver struck them on Highway 544 near Coastal Carolina University before leaving the scene early Sunday morning.
Newly released Conway Police Department records provide additional details about the crash, which happened around 12:18 a.m. Sunday at Highway 544 and Elvington Loop.
According to an incident report, the two pedestrians were crossing Highway 544 when they were struck by a 2014 Honda Accord traveling northbound. Police said the driver was traveling above the posted 40 mph speed limit when the crash happened…
