Grand Strand housing market stable amid rate shifts

HORRY COUNTY, SC (WMBF) – Local real estate experts share that the Grand Strand housing market is stable.

Interest rates are fluctuating, but new construction incentives are keeping the market moving, according to local real estate experts.

Rates and buyer activity

Blake Sloan, a certified real estate expert with Sloan Realty Group, said buyer activity increased earlier this year when rates dropped.

“When rates came back down in February, buyers jumped back in off the fence. You saw a huge rush in quarter 2; we did as well,” Sloan said. “And now those rates have crept back up; you’re starting to see pending sales come down just a little bit. But that’s one thing, Myrtle Beach is still very, very affordable.”…
