Smoky conditions across Marion, Horry counties

MYRTLE BEACH, S.C. (WBTW) — Temperatures are starting mild this morning, with lows in the low and mid-60s with a few upper 50s inland.

Today will be very similar to yesterday in terms of both temperatures and sky conditions. Expect another above-average day, with highs reaching the upper 80s inland and around 80° along the coast. Skies will remain mostly sunny and dry throughout the day.

The biggest difference today will be air quality. An air quality alert is in effect across Horry County due to smoke from a large wildfire burning in southern Marion County. Impacted communities will include Conway, Aynor, and Loris, which may notice hazy conditions as southwest winds transport smoke into the area…
