NORTH MYRTLE BEACH, SC (WMBF) – Five Vietnam veterans from Myrtle Beach will compete in a national golf tournament in Philadelphia tied to the PGA Championship.
Russell Combes, Gary Schaal, Bob Pappas, Ed Courtney and Thomas Boyd were selected to represent the veteran community at the Secretary’s Cup, a tournament hosted by the U.S. Secretary of Veterans Affairs during PGA Championship week
“Not because we are representing Myrtle Beach, but because we are representing Vietnam veterans,” Combes said. “And there probably won’t be any other group up there that is all Vietnam veterans.”
