Suspect in deadly Horry County DUI crash pleads guilty to hiding drug-laundering scheme

FLORENCE, SC (WMBF) – A Little River woman, who is a suspect in a deadly 2025 crash, has pleaded guilty in federal court to a charge stemming from her role in concealing criminal activity tied to drug trafficking proceeds, according to prosecutors.

The United States Department of Justice announced Wednesday that Kayla Tisdale, 37, pleaded guilty to misprision of a felony.

The DOJ said she took steps to hide a scheme involving assets purchased with money she knew came from drug trafficking.

The DOJ said that evidence presented during her change-of-plea hearing indicated Tisdale was previously in a relationship with a large-scale drug trafficker who distributed fentanyl and methamphetamine, among other drugs…
