Man pleads guilty to leading armed Conway home invasion in which teen was tied up

HORRY COUNTY, SC (WMBF) – A Conway man is heading to prison for leading an armed home invasion.

Alegandro Diaz, 22, of Conway, pleaded guilty Wednesday to first-degree burglary, a month before his scheduled trial, according to the Fifteenth Circuit Solicitor’s Office.

A judge sentenced Diaz to 15 years in prison. The offense is a two-strike offense under South Carolina’s three-strike law, meaning if Diaz is ever convicted of any other serious offense, he could be sentenced to life in prison without parole…
