NORTH MYRTLE BEACH, S.C. (WBTW) — A now-former North Myrtle Beach Police Officer was permanently denied his eligibility certification after an April South Carolina Law Enforcement Training Council hearing.
The North Myrtle Beach Police Department told News13 that Jim Duff resigned on Aug. 13, 2025 after “admitting he had been dishonest with superior officers about striking an unknown object with his patrol vehicle.”
The object that he hit “caused significant damage to the undercarriage of his vehicle, rendering the vehicle inoperable,” the department furthered. “The North Myrtle Beach Police Department must stress that in our profession, honesty is not optional, it is a requirement.”…
