The Burroughs School, established in Conway 154 years ago, continues to serve education as the Horry County Museum.
The existing main building, at 805 N. Main Street, was constructed in 1905, and opened for grades 1-9 in 1906. When a high school was established, classes were added in 1908. McCown Auditorium was added in the 1920s.
