FLORENCE, SC (WMBF) – The man who pleaded guilty at the state level to lighting a cross to intimidate his Black Conway-area neighbors was in court Wednesday for his arraignment on federal charges.
A federal grand jury in Florence returned a two-count indictment against Worden Butler, 31, formerly of the Conway area, for interfering with the housing rights of his Black neighbors and using fire to commit a federal felony in April.
