Heavy downpours throughout the afternoon and evening

MYRTLE BEACH, S.C. (WBTW) — It is another mild and foggy morning, with temperatures starting in the upper 60s and lower 70s. Temperatures will stay near normal today, with highs in the 80s. Conditions will remain relatively quiet through the morning hours, with only isolated rain chances. However, showers and thunderstorms will begin developing during the afternoon as the sea breeze front pushes inland.

With high humidity in place, thunderstorms can produce a decent amount of rain in a short time. For example, Florence broke its daily rainfall record yesterday, receiving nearly 2.5 inches of rain. Of which, 0.82″ fell between 7-8 p.m.

Activity will taper off overnight, leaving partly cloudy skies and temperatures falling back into the upper 60s and lower 70s once again…
