Joliet police have confirmed that expensive “hot rod” vehicles were stolen or damaged at three different hotels near I-80 and Hoboult Road. The theft and damage occurred during the overnight hours from Monday to Tuesday this week.
The 32nd annual HOT ROD Power Tour runs from June 8–12, 2026, celebrating the 100th anniversary of Route 66.
It is a five-day, 8,000-mile cross country event driving from Illinois to Oklahoma, and featuring thousands of hot rods, muscle cars, and drag racing. The annual event follows a nostalgic stretch of the historic Route 66 highway.
The Hot Rods stopped at the Route 66 Raceway in Joliet on June 8. They moved on to Rantoul on June 9. The HOT ROD Power Tour schedule then moves on to the World Wide Technology Raceway in St. Louis, Missouri State University in Springfield, MO, and then the event wraps up at the Tulsa Raceway Parkin in Tulsa, OK on Friday…
