Man faces sixth DUI after being found slumped over wheel at suburban intersection, officials say

For the sixth time in his life, an Addison man is charged with DUI after police allegedly found him slumped over the wheel of his car at a busy intersection with a blood alcohol concentration nearly four times the legal limit.

Goran Brkic, 56, was ordered detained by Judge Joshua Dieden on a count of aggravated DUI – sixth or subsequent violation, a Class X felony, officials said.

According to prosecutors, Addison police officers responded to a report of a driver slumped over the wheel at Lake Street and Mill Road around 11:27 a.m. Tuesday. They found Brkic’s vehicle sitting in the left turn lane on westbound Lake Street and positioned squad cars in front of and behind the vehicle to keep it from moving, according to a statement from the DuPage County State’s Attorney’s Office…
