Police Officer Jordan Legris, who recently returned from active duty in Somalia, received a hero’s welcome June 30 when the Orland Park Police Department unveiled a 2025 Ford Explorer Police Interceptor wrapped in his honor.
Mayor Jim Dodge, Trustees Dina Lawrence and Joanna Liotine Leafblad, Village Clerk Mary Ryan Norwell, Police Chief Eric Rossi, fellow officers and village staff gathered with Legris’ family for the surprise ceremony. The wrap honors all of the nation’s armed forces.
Legris, 35, grew up in Orland Park and graduated from Carl Sandburg High School. He joined the police department in 2014 after serving as a community service officer. In August 2024, he deployed to Somalia as a major in the Illinois Army National Guard.
